"Help us give precious time to loved ones"

A bit of background...
Matt Dyson was a very special person, a much loved son & brother of our friends. He was only 22 & whilst recovering from cancer he suffered a heart attack & died suddenly.  Matt received treatment for cancer at Cheltenham Oncology Unit - although he hated being at hospital he thought the staff were wonderful, & they were!

He was using a radical form of Chemotherapy Pumps, for 24 hours for 5 full days he was dependant on the Pumps not blocking.  Any blockage could delay departure & this is the last thing that should concern anyone receiving treatment.  Getting out of hospital meant freedom for a while.  Matt had 6 months of Radiotherapy & Chemotherpay in 7 weeks.

Take Matt with you...
Matt left us all with a huge void to fill & his family decided to honour his memory & make sure he lived on for other people as well by raising money to buy Chemotherapy Pumps for the Oncology Unit & the new Day Care Unit that is about to open.

Matts family are encouraging people, when they go somewhere new or on holiday, to email a picture of Matt’s name displayed on paper, with stones, yellow ribbons etc...!  Matt really wanted to travel when he was fit & well again.

A Web Site for this cause is under construction.  It will be on-line soon & will have information concerning fund raising events taking place. There has already been:

The BIG3 challange organised by Dave from on-hand, with Matt’s brother Ben & a group of close friends.  This also raised a fantastic £2,000 for Macmillan Cancert Support - see the certificate on the right of this page!

A street party held on Matt’s birthday.

A memorial "19ft" Christmas tree, which has yellow ribbons on it for loved ones. For Christmas 2008, ribbons will be sponsored at a larger event with all proceeds going to the appeal.

THIS IS JUST THE START... Information on all events organised to raise money for this fantastic appeal, & details of it's Web Site launch, will appear on this Site and in copies of on-hand.

YELLOW is the colour of the appeal... Matt’s car, his pride & joy, was yellow.
